One day out of the clear blue sky, Pexi asked, “Why does the sky look blue?”
“I know that,” Alexi said. “The sky looks blue because of sunlight coming through the Earth’s atmosphere. The white light from the sun is a mixture of all the colors of the rainbow. When the light comes through the Earth’s atmosphere, it gets all split up into many colors. The blue light gets scattered all around the atmosphere, and that’s what makes the sky look blue.”
“I’m glad I did not get scattered around when I came through the Earth’s atmosphere,” said Pexi. “I would not want to be a scatter brain.”
Alexi and Pexi both laughed. It was Pexi’s first joke, the first of many.
