About Us

Helping Discover the Joy and Power of Reading

MightyBook.com was founded in 1999 by founding partners George Fogelman and Betty Eaves, former educators with more than 20 years of classroom teaching experience. The mission of MightyBook.com is to provide entertaining content that helps kids and adults alike discover the joy and power of reading.

MightyBook.com is an online publisher that primarily focuses on interactive children's books and story and sing-along songs for ages 2 to 10. Our stories have original sound tracks, often with music and fun sound effects, and were originally created in Macromedia/Adobe Flash. Words in the stories highlight as they are spoken by the story teller. It is truly entertainment that helps kids read.

Illustrations for MightyBook.com stories have an international flavor, with artists from all around the world, including Australia, Canada, China, Iran, England, France, Pakistan, South Africa and the United States providing artwork in a multitude of styles. All MightyBook.com books and story songs are designed to entertain kids while improving their reading skills.

And it's an excellent teaching resource for special education and English as a second language.

Don't just take our word for it, read what people have to say about us.

Helping Learn How to Protect the Environment

Books are made of paper. Paper is made from wood. Wood comes from trees. Trees make up the forest where plants and animals live. Plants and animals die when the forest is cut down.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of trees are cut down so we can make paper. Many of these trees come from virgin forests where trees were never cut down before. This can be very bad for the environment. Although the companies that cut down trees can plant new trees, it will take many years for the trees to grow back. And the plant and animal communities that lived in the forest may never come back, because the complex ecological balance that was built up over thousands of years is destroyed when the forest is stripped bare of all its trees.

We need books, so how can we have books and trees? Here are a few things we can do:

  1. Buy more used books. Even though a book has been used before, the information in it often is as good as new.
  2. Pass your books on to others. When you do not read a book any longer, pass it on to friends or family so they don't have to purchase a new book.
  3. Buy books printed on recycled paper. If you buy new books, try to buy books that are printed on recycled paper. Recycled paper uses much less wood than new paper does.
  4. Read more electronic books. Electronic books don’t use any paper at all, so no trees are cut down to make books that you read on your computer.
